Clever Ways to Connect with Students During COVID-19

Want to find an innovative and clever way to connect with students during the health crisis? Check out Maclay School in Tallahassee, where their head of school, James Milford, has been busy creating personalized happy birthday videos to each of the students in the Lower School who will miss their on-campus celebrations with their friends.

They have also created an online catalogue of stories – called “Storytime” – read by Maclay administrators, faculty, and staff, designed to engage students and keep them connected to friendly faces from school and endearing messages. The entire catalogue of online stories is here.

Maclay School is an independent, private, college preparatory school located on 100 beautiful acres in northern Tallahassee, Florida, about ten miles north of the state capitol building. Maclay provides a liberal arts education, enabling each student to develop their inherent ability to the fullest extent with a balance of discipline and freedom. The 2019-2020 school year will be the 52nd year for Maclay, now under the leadership of James Milford who is in his sixth year as Head of School.
