Strategic Planning Will Die When…

We hear a lot of critics say that strategic planning is dying given the rapidly changing economic and industry environment in which we operate. True – times are different, which requires constant environmental scanning and organizational agility in strategy. But, I don’t see solid strategic planning going away soon.

Strategic planning will only die when we don’t value generative strategic thinking, data-driven decision making, environmental scanning, positioning, and organizational buy-in anymore.

What should die are lengthy processes which produce plans that pander to those resistant to change and gather digital dust in the future.
