Halifax & Chill: A Coastal Gem Worth the Buzz

I have long been a fan of Canada.  So much of a fan that the Tragically Hip remain my third favorite band of all time.  My travels with ISA have taken me all over the country working with independent day and boarding schools.  But, this last fall I had the opportunity to visit Nova Scotia for the first time as part of a keynote for Canadian Accredited Independent Schools and was blown away by this seaside city.

Halifax boasts a rich history as a vibrant maritime hub, founded in 1749 as a British stronghold and naval base. Once a key player in trade and immigration, its iconic harbor has witnessed everything from battles to the Halifax Explosion of 1917, one of history’s largest non-nuclear explosions. Today, its cobblestone streets and historic sites blend seamlessly with a modern, creative vibe, keeping its seafaring spirit alive.

Most importantly, the Peggy’s Cove lighthouse was the inspiration for our initial and current version of the ISA logo.

Super cool place. Yes, Halifax, Nova Scotia is well worth a visit.  Takes a minute to get there but I highly recommend it.
